lyrics
Hate pushing myself to the edge of things Avalanche on paved liquid stone Enraged, I’m touching a statue of fog Reaching out to end it all
Closing an open door
- cutting the fleshly chord Heading for distance
faster than ever before Chasing the thinner air Agony pushing so hard that a glacier of blood seems to dissolve A search for the unknown
- maniacally reborn
A pilgrimage towards
the blackest of resorts
The mountains of madness are marvelously tall and arising
Passing the axis of time
in momentum
My insides are crushed
by a revolving pendulum
Fade into sleep
- towards the land of dreams Apprehension malfunctioning
and giving in
to the calling of winter
that’s coming from home
where the darkest of spirits
in my heart have been summoned Awakened again I will travel once more on the night sky’s road
I glide on the rays of contortion Once more through
the winds of distortion Liber absque finis
Drifting on the edges of a cell Free but with the risk of falling back Indubitably having all control Facing the temptation to abort Present in the harmony of death Hatred opened up a glorious path A mountain range of unforgiving eyes Imminent to fall upon the parasites unworthy of a life
Liber absque finis
In harmony in death I am
Darkest spirits rising
Heart of blackest blood is pumping Pulverizing bones Mountains manifesting Nourishing from the flesh of weak souls whose fates are condemned
Hate pushing myself to the edge of things Avalanche on paved liquid stone Enraged, I’m touching the statue of fog Seeking out the most lonesome road
Closing an open door...
Seeking in disarray for the lost valley The great sanctuary of winter and fire Between the mountains
which holds up the whole universe There will I travel again through the wind tunnels
Fade into sleep
- towards the land of dreams to the calling of winter on vast starlit avenues Now I will travel once more
on the ever black night sky’s road

I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian) porcelainheart-

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
